چکیده
We study by means of numerical simulations the model of dissipative particle dynamics with energy conservation for the simple case of thermal conduction. The model can be understood as a versatile discretization of the heat conduction equation on a random lattice including thermal uctuations.

Dissipative particle dynamics with energy conservation
– Dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) does not conserve energy and this precludes its use in the study of thermal processes in complex fluids. We present here a generalization of DPD that incorporates an internal energy and a temperature variable for each particle. The dissipation induced by the dissipative forces between particles is invested in raising the internal energy of the particles. Th...
متن کاملDissipative Particle Dynamics with Energy Conservation: Heat Conduction
Mesoscopic approaches to the study of complex fluids are receiving a great deal of attention in view of their potential to address problems with disparate time-scales. The method of dissipative particle dynamics introduced originally as an hybrid between lattice gas and molecular dynamics simulations [1], has proven to be a flexible and powerful tool in the study of complex fluids as colloidal ...
متن کاملDissipative particle dynamics with energy conservation : equilibrium properties Allan D . Mackie and Josep Bonet Avalos
The stochastic differential equations for a model of dissipative particle dynamics, with both total energy and total momentum conservation at every time-step, are presented. The algorithm satisfies detailed balance as well as the fluctuation-dissipation theorems that ensure that the proper thermodynamic equilibrium can be reached. Macroscopic equilibrium probability distributions as well as equ...
متن کاملHeating dynamics of CO2-laser irradiated silica particles with evaporative shrinking: measurements and modeling
The heating dynamics of CO2-laser heated micron-sized particles were determined for temperatures <3500K measured using infrared imaging. A coupled mass and energy conservation model is derived to predict single particle temperatures and sizes, which were compared to data from particles deposited on non-absorbing substrates to assess the relevant heat transfer processes. Analysis reveals substra...

The stochastic differential equations for a model of dissipative particle dynamics with both total energy and total momentum conservation in the particle-particle interactions are presented. The corresponding Fokker-Planck equation for the evolution of the probability distribution for the system is deduced together with the corresponding fluctuation-dissipation theorems ensuring that the ab ini...
